Athwela Marketplace is an initiative by The Grassrooted Trust to build local economies in Sri Lanka in partnership with Women’s Development Foundation – a rural feminist outfit, and Devasarana Development Centre, who have partnered with and supported local communities since the 1980s in the Ibbagamuwa Division of the Kurunegala District and beyond.
Grassrooted has helped curate a range of products based on the principles of fair trade, and Athwela Marketplace works with selected artisans and cottage industries to bring you a unique range of products that reflect the skills, diversity, and imagination of Sri Lanka.
